Safety always has the highest priority. Therefore, it is worth being prepared for unforeseen situations such as a fire. On Thursday, 24 April, fire drills were organised by the State Fire Brigade and the Voluntary Fire Brigade in the area of our secondary raw materials store in Zwoleń.

The exercises were attended by units from the Zwoleń Fire Brigade, Policzna Fire Brigade, Rawica Fire Brigade, Tynica Fire Brigade, Łagów Fire Brigade and Kowalków Fire Brigade, commanded by Mł. Bryg. Andrzej Szarawarski. The exercises were aimed at familiarising firefighters on daily duty with the area of our fire station and the areas directly adjacent to it. The firefighters had the opportunity to practice controlled hazards and improve the rescue methods they use in their daily work.

The exercise was also an excellent opportunity for Lobo recycling employees to familiarise themselves with fire regulations and the safety rules they have to follow in their daily work. We hope that the knowledge and skills acquired will never be used in practice.

On 26-27 March, we are taking part in the Regional Municipal Economy Forum. This event is a series of 7 meetings attended by companies involved in waste management. The meetings have a similar organisational and thematic structure, but each meeting covers topics that address the problems and challenges in the region.

Topics presented during lectures and discussion panels include energy in waste, waste management technologies and municipal waste management systems. What sets the Forum apart from other conferences is that it touches on region-specific topics, the opportunity to make new contacts in the region and the possibility of regional integration.

From 30 January to 1 February, we were pleased to take part in the 15th Conference on Selective Collection, Segregation and Recycling of Waste. This year's conference was held in a hybrid format - stationary at the Łochów Palace and via online transmission.

The event, entitled 'Selective collection, segregation and recycling of waste', traditionally opens the conference season in the waste industry. The event is an excellent opportunity to address topics currently burning the professional waste management industry, such as: the legal and organisational framework of the system of selective collection, segregation and recycling of waste, the deposit system, recycling of paper and multi-material packaging and practical issues of selective collection and recycling of selected fractions and groups of waste.

The concluding event of the conference was a visit to a recycling plant for multi-material packaging. On the study tour, we had the opportunity to visit a state-of-the-art process line for the production of lightweight packaging papers and a line for the repulping of used beverage cartons.

We are proud to support the social action "Plastic not to cooker, cooker not to plastics" organised by Plastics Europe Poland. Lobo recycling has been involved in environmental protection activities for years and now, together with the campaign, we are promoting attitudes to reduce the impact of plastic waste on our planet.

The 'Plastic not for cooker, cooker not for plastics' campaign promotes a responsible approach to waste management by excluding plastics from incineration processes in cookers. It is an initiative that seeks to raise public awareness of the harmfulness of burning plastics and promotes alternative disposal methods, including recycling.

Lobo Recycling actively supports the idea of reducing plastic waste through professional waste management. Our commitment includes not only the collection and processing of plastics, but also the education of the public about the benefits of recycling and the harms associated with burning plastic waste.

We want to work together with our customers and the community to build a more sustainable future where plastic waste does not end up in furnaces. We believe that together we can contribute to protecting the environment and creating a better environment for ourselves and future generations.
